Lenterns is our local butcher, a fantastically friendly family business that’s been going for years and one of the major reasons why our infamous ‘Abbey Breakfast’ is so popular. We always pride ourselves on trying to get the best possible ingredients, always choosing to support local business whenever possible.
Their Smoked Back Bacon is out of this world and when combined with fresh eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, sausages and their excellent Black Pudding you get a truly sumptuous ‘Abbey Breakfast’.
Now I’m obviously a fan of them for their meat, but as if that wasn’t enough they’ve now started baking their own Chicken & Mushroom and Steak Pies. They are as you’d expect, outstanding so if you ever get a chance to visit them during your next stay make sure you grab one. But I must warn you they are so good that I’m considering setting up a Meat Pies Anonymous group as I’m struggling to wean myself off them!
